I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Three women meet by "coincidence'"? This book follows the story of Bailey and trying to find out about the death of her husband five years prior, as well as the death of her new friends' husbands on the same day five years prior. Does it have any connection to the death of a young teenage girl the men new that also died on the same date 20 years earlier? Knew this book would be start of a new series and expected to end as it did. I was glad that at least it ended the solving of the teenage girl's murder but did not expect who the murder was. Can't wait for the next book to follow Willow's story? or perhaps Peyton's story. Great job Olivia!

The author created characters that are strong and independent, who meet and became intertwined in unexpected ways. By building several storylines that involve romance, intrigue, and even murder, readers with interests in different genres will be equally drawn to find out what happens next. A talented way to hook reader's of various interests, when building the plot. Book one, Wicked After Midnight, answers some of your questions but the finely weaved cliffhanger leaves more to be discovered.

This is the second book by Olivia Jaymes that I haven't liked. The initial premise sounded interesting, but I honestly didn't get much of a vibe out of the main characters. I found myself hoping the story would switch to more interesting possible hook ups between her friends and his. I read about 75% of this and started reading other books. Most of the emphasis is on the "mystery" which like her last book (Danger in the Night) wasn't all that interesting, and not a lot of romance. At least Danger in the Night had great dialogue and chemistry between characters, but not so much with this one. Male is ultra consensual and very beta (at least in the 75% that I read). I found myself skimming through a lot of this one. I was a fan of the previous books involving lawmen, but not so much this mystery series.

I had no expectations going in, and I loved this book. The mystery is super interesting, the romances fascinating and cute, and all the women are just so fun and they all have different personalities. I really enjoyed this and wish I had the second book in my hands right now. This series is really really good.
Naturally, it’s quite a bit clichéd in parts. And somethings it extremely predictable. But it’s worth it and it works for this particular story. I would give it a try before you judge it LOL
