I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I finished it at 3am. It only took a few days to read because I just couldn't put it down! It is a heartwarming story of overcoming loss through faith, hope and love. Having lost my mother my senior year of high school, and Christmas being her favorite time of year, I found myself relating to Melody. I can feel her pain, confusion, the tension of joy and sorrow and ultimately, celebrating her victory over grief. I have sent my friends the link to order their copy this morning! It's a wonderful story of redemption, perseverance, family, the Magic of Christmas and love. You won't regret spending a few days discovering the town of Charles Town, and the lives that makes it one of a kind!

Beautiful Christmas story. I adored Michael. Melody was a sweet, and also strong, heroine. I usually prefer "protagonist", but she felt like a heroine. Her name was so appropriate that it could have been too much, but wasn't. It felt like a name her late father might have chosen.

About the author

D Johnson wears many hats: mother, wife, editor, tutu maker, and writer, to name a few. Some of her favorite people are the two little girls who often implore that she "watch me!" in the middle of forming finely crafted sentences, that guy who dozes off well before she closes her laptop, and those furry critters at the foot of the bed at night. If she could do anything in the world, she would live in Cinderella's castle and write love stories all day while sipping Dr. Pepper and eating calorie-less Hershey's kisses. For now, she'll stick to her Dallas-area home and spending her days with the characters she's grown to love.

After 16 years in education, Johnson has embarked on a new career, one as a full-time writer. This will allow her to write at least one book per month, which means many of your favorite character will have new tales to tell in the upcoming months.
