About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Includes a new story by Christina Skye

Beloved author Debbie Macomber celebrates the most wonderful time of the year in this heartwarming Christmas novel of romance, hope, and the comforts of home—now a Hallmark Channel original movie!

Harry Mills is a guardian angel on a mission: help twenty-four-year-old Addie Folsom get her life back on track—and, if the right moment strikes, help her find love. Posing as a teacher at a local college in Tacoma, Washington, Harry is up to the task, but not even he can predict the surprises that lay in store.

After trying to make it on her own, Addie has returned home to Tacoma for the holidays, but this time she plans to stay for good, enrolling in the local community college to earn her degree. What she doesn’t plan to do is run into Erich Simmons.

Addie and her next-door neighbor, Erich, are like night and day. Growing up, he was popular and outgoing while she was rebellious and headstrong, and he never missed an opportunity to tease her. Now she intends to avoid him entirely, yet when they’re suddenly forced to spend Christmas together, Addie braces for trouble.

Perhaps it’s the spirit of the season or the magic of mistletoe, but Addie and Erich soon find they have more in common than they thought—and that two people who seem so wrong for each other may actually be just right. With a little prompting from a certain angelic teacher, the two are in for a holiday miracle they’ll never forget.

Debbie Macomber's latest book, A Mrs. Miracle Christmas is a wonderful little Christmas story. I always enjoyed reading Debbie's other Angel series books. I loved that she not only has Mrs. Miracle but also Shirley, Goodness and Mercy as guest appearances in this story. Debbie does a fantastic job of carefully crafted characters that you will not soon forget. I fell in love with Laurel, her husband Zack, grandmother Helen and of course Mrs. Miracle. Helen has started to be forgetful and showing signs of dementia. Laurel and Zack work full time and need to find someone to stay with grandmother during the day, while they are at work. Mrs. Miracle shows up as a Home Care Angel to stay with Helen. Helen is the first to realize that Mrs. Miracle is a real heavenly angle sent from God in answer to their prayers. I received a complementary copy from Ballantine Books through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I love Macomber’s light-hearted writing style. She never fails to invite me right into the heart of her stories, and this novel was no exception. I found it very easy to picture each of the scenes that Macomber developed, all the while enjoying the very unique story that she develops. I found myself wishing for my own Mr Miracle. The main characters in this novel were just fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them as they were presented. The fact that these two had to come to terms not only with their individual pasts, but with their shared past as well added an extra element to the story. I also couldn’t help but giggle at Harry. His sense of self-worth and his ‘vast knowledge’ combined with the reality of the situations he found himself in were absolutely endearing. This novel was the perfect escape from reality for me. The rest of the world just fell away, and I was in Washington alongside the characters. It is a very personal and approachable story, perfect for the holidays.

Normally I love Debbie Macomber's books. Not this one. It's just okay. The ending was very abrupt.
