About this ebook

In this steamy novel from New York Times bestselling author Noelle Adams, a notorious tech mogul makes a mild-mannered woman an offer she can’t refuse. What he gets is a battle for control—and a million-dollar affair.

Eric Vincent isn’t in the habit of asking for help. As the founder of a lucrative sports videogame franchise, he’s accustomed to getting his way and enjoying the fruits of his hard-earned success. Then all his illusions of dominance are shattered by a skiing accident that leaves him hobbled, facing a string of surgeries and months of immobility. The only way he’s going to survive is with someone by his side to anticipate his every desire. Someone who will devote every waking second to his comfort. Someone like Julie Nelson . . .

Julie’s life revolves around other people: her students, her parents, her sister. But even she has her limits. Julie has zero interest in playing personal assistant to Eric Vincent, a man who’s as arrogant as he is charismatic . . . until he ups the salary to one million dollars for three months’ work. Soon Julie’s struggling to bite her tongue—and resist the chemistry that draws her to Eric. But after one scorching kiss, Julie decides it’s finally her turn to be selfish. And this time, she’s going to get what she wants.

My first introduction to Noelle Adams was through her collaborating with one of my favorite authors, Samantha Chase on the Protectors series. The partnership seemed so seamless that you could not tell where one author ended and the other began. I thought this is an author worth checking out. So I started buying up any of her stories I could get my hands on. Ms. Adams stories have an introspective quality to them that makes her characters easy to understand and relate to. I like that in an author. Fooling Around is her latest novel that I received through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Julie proved almost too realistic for me. It broke my heart that she put her life on hold to look after others and neglected herself. She was like a lost puppy that needed love and was taken for granted by the people that she should have been able to count on. This story gives a face to more than just a romance, it tackles humanizing subjects like sickness and death with a tenderness that is not a long drawn out speech delivered but through the eyes of a loving daughter.

I really enjoyed this book of finding love when you least expect it. Great chemistry between the characters, and they both grew so much. Julie, has been taken care of both her parents for the last six months, basically has put her life on hold when she meets Eric on the hospital elevator. He is very rich and has been injured, now in a wheelchair for the next three moths. He has chased off many care givers for his rude behavior. He now offers, a million dollars to Julie to help him for the next three months. Wow, what a million dollars won't do. Soon there is a mutual chemistry between the two, but can they put aside their feelings since he is her boss.

This one started off a bit rocky for me but as I read the story I found I really enjoyed these characters and their story. At first glance Julie appears weak and easily taken advantage of. Her sister is a real piece of work and Julie tries so hard to get along with her. After caring for both parents she now finds herself alone, living with her sister and seriously needing something to focus on. After meeting the very gruff and unhappy Eric Vincent, Julie is shocked when he calls her with a job offer. To be his care provider while he recuperates from a severely broken leg. While at first she declines the offer he ups the ante making it impossible to decline. One million dollars for three months of her time. Could she put up with the intense man for 3 months?? Can she keep her bizarre attraction to him under control?? Theirs is an interesting story and one I think you will enjoy. I recommend it.

About the author

Noelle Adams handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn’t stopped writing since. She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she reads any book she can get her hands on and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.
