Chimera, the 5th book in the Kate Redman series, was a slower read than the previous four. It still was superbly written with lots of twisty subplots, but I feel it was a more character based story as opposed to being focused on the crime alone. Celina Grace's ability to write about characters with such depth is outstanding - you really feel Kate's loneliness & despair in this novel. All the juicy threads are tied up at the end of what is again an exceptional read. Onto the next novel in the series!!

I don't like long reviews that reveal plots and characters so I won't do that now. I enjoy detective novels and the Kate Redman series never disappoints. I have read several, out of order, and have still been surprised by character twists. Chimera is a good, page turning read and that's what I look for in a book. I had to force myself to put it down at night.

Loved the story line. It kept me from putting the book down. The part were mr dukker kills himself is a bit pridictable as from where he is described sotting with a blanket over his legs. Still a shock to realize it is through injection that he dies. Will defenitely be looking for more stories by Celina Grace.
