About this ebook

Cora has it all, but she doesn’t have a man. They keep dying on her.

She is the immortal Greek goddess Persephone, drinking and reveling in a Malibu beach house in the twenty-first century. But no matter her wild antics or psychotherapy, nothing can ease the pain over her latest husband’s murder. Except perhaps the prudish but handsome Mr. Gabriel Cartwright.

Gabe is a young East Coast realtor who’s hired to transfer her things to her new home in Toronto. Cora likes him. He has such a kind and sweet heart. But her lover holds secrets. He is a member of a nymph race that Imada, an ancient order of gods, has been hunting to extinction; a race Persephone has fought millennia to protect. That’s why she hired him. She wants to be close to him. She wants to care for him. Only Imada cares for Gabriel too—they want him dead.

Cora will protect her man or tear Imada apart trying.

Content warning: CORA features a goddess who enjoys bad language, romance, and sexual situations. Although Cora is the same goddess as Persephone four thousand years earlier in A.L. Hawke's Cora: Rise of the Fallen Goddess, this contemporary urban fantasy is suited for an adult audience.

Enjoyable read! I appreciate the author’s attention to detail and ability to make me care not only about the main character but also about the other details in the story.

4 1/2 stars - I chose this book to read and review because I have a fondness for "any" romance books related to Hades and Persephone. This story is more about Persephone alias Ms. Cora Aregard. Persephone is in a mental depressed mess after the death of her husband Danny. She's moving out of their house in California and starting over in Torondo. Mr. Gabriel Cartwright who works for Platinum Properties is helping her transition to a new house. Persephone hired Gabe because he is a rare male Napean nymph. Meanwhile Imada, a secret society of gods and goddesses is hunting and killing all the Napean nymphs. Persephone is determined to protect and care for Gabe. Will she succeed with the help of Hades? This story was enjoyable to read. Cora the main character had a lot of mental problems affecting her behavior which made her a harder character to understand. Hence the 1/2 star off. The bottom line in this story is everyone is looking for someone to love them, even Gods.

Loved the book! This book truly has it all! Cora is spontaneous, a bit crazy and truly knows how to have a good time. The excitement just keeps coming. This is definitely one of those “can’t put it down” books. A must read.
