About this ebook

The first and only wish on his Christmas List – the One Who Got Away

Macon Draeger has loved Charlotte for as long as he can remember. While he’s thrilled that she’s back in Last Stand, Texas, he suspects she won’t stay long. Charlotte has always had a wandering spirit, with dreams that carry her far from their hometown.

When Charlotte Kraus returns to run her grandmother’s flower shop for the holidays, she never expected to feel so at home and inspired. On a whim, she decides to transform the simple flower shop into a flower cafe. The project quickly spirals out of her control, but Macon, her high school sweet heart – a skilled and in demand handy man – steps in to help. Was he this tall, dark, handsome and tempting when they were teens? Charlotte is wondering about a lot of things by the time they ring in the New Year.

Spending time with Charlotte reminds Macon of what he truly wants in life – love and a family of his own. Can he gain his heart’s desire this Christmas?

This easy read second chance romance is chock full of both delightful characters and Christmas cheer. Our two main characters, Charlotte and Macon, are a delight, but this story isn't just about them, there is also an array of wonderful supporting characters, both two legged and four footed. Dogs, kittens, a crotchety old man, feisty and lovable grandma, adorable kids and many more, including Macon's large family. The setting of Last Stand, Texas brings with it a real sense of community and I swear there is a warm glow emanating from these pages. I felt transported to Last Stand, and enjoyed every minute I spent with these characters, and was quite sad when I had to say goodbye to them. Thankfully there us a first book for me to catch up on (though this was fine as a standalone), and a third to look forward to. If you are looking for a fun, sweet, feel good read to get you in the Christmas spirit, here it is!

I love reading books based in Last Stand, TX it's like coming home again. This is the second book in The Draegers of Last Stand series. You can read each book as a stand alone but why do that when you can enjoy delish Cowboys in one of the best fictional Texas towns. In this book we get to catch up a wee bit with the Draegers but mostly with Macon as it is his story. This is Macon and Charlotte's second chance at love and what a wonderful book it is. I can see this book made into a movie so easily esp with Charlotte's grandma being ever the matchmaker.
