After reading the first few pages I was hooked until the last page and now am waiting expectantly for the next book in this series to come out. Ms. Miles is a talented storyteller and knows how to write a great smoking story. I am nothing, I am nobody, I am a ghost, A commodity to be brought and traded is what Kai Miller feels after she is kidnapped at 16 and sold for a million dollars by Enzo, who is 17, hair is darker than night, chiseled jaw, and deep eyes spoke of pain and heartache. One day Jarod, who is the leader and captain of the boat that Kai has been held on and torture says, You're broken, now you're free. She next wakes on a park bench not knowing how she got there, this starts her journey to get answers to why from Enzo starting at club Surrender, the den of the most evil men in the world, men who kill, torture, and sell women. The storyline is captivating, intriguing, engaging, and well developed and heart wrenching at time. There is many twists and turns and the biggest one I think comes in the last chapter and definitely endes up not what I expected, If you like reading dark romance with suspense you will love this book and will be with me waiting for the next.

I wouldn't call this a stand a lone, it does have a semi conclusion but leaves open the next book without giving all the answers. Definitely not a romance but more a crime thriller. Lots of violence and innuendo rape scenes. Intriguing story line but kind of pissed me off leaving me hanging. I prefer stories with matching beginning and endings, a pair, and not even partial cliff hangers.

A difficult story to read, impossible to put down! by sewsummore This was a difficult book to read, so painful that at times tears ran from my eyes as I felt the intense pain and degradation that was inflicted upon Kai. It was Kai's determination not to give in to her jailers, her determination not to let them break her, that kept me reading. The pain did not disappear for her after her release, instead the pain inside her continued, and never allowed her to heal. This was an emotional story of a young woman's pain, a difficult to read a story impossible to put down and on the last page I discovered that a new battle for redemption has begun, to be continued in the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed this book.
