About this ebook

Who will pay the price for her silence?

Nine-year-old Jody does well at school, despite living in a run-down part of East London.

Then one terrible night, her life changes forever, and Jody is forced to make an impossible choice between telling the truth and keeping her family together.

The police bring her in for questioning, and pressure her to tell them what really happened but is Jody ready to admit it, even to herself?

Will the truth win out, or will Jody be sucked into a web of lies in order to protect her family?

This disturbing crime novel is utterly gripping and impossible to put down.

Really good story. I felt connected to Jody Bear. Couldn't put it down. However, the ending wasn't complete. I was hoping for it to come full circle with ending as it began, with the Prologue. I wanted to see Jody and Alicia walk away from the burning house, without looking back. All in all, though, I would highly recommend it.

I read this as a free download from Google. It is an engaging and frightening look at Jody a young girl abused her whole life and the impact that it has. Parts of this tale are infuriating and you might want to put the book down but I found myself coming back tofind out what happens.

The one thing I realized after reading the book was how much we take all the virtues we have for granted.... A good home... People who loves and cares about us.... Three meals a day.... A roof over our heads..... Everything....
