About this ebook

Bombs, bullets and the remote jungle - and America's coolest covert agent Jake Fonko is up to his neck in it all.

Army Ranger Jake Fonko's latest mission - locate a former CIA asset gone missing in Cambodia - has his instincts on full alert. He might be a decorated soldier, but he's certainly no international spy.

But Jake, ever the loyal warrior, agrees to the CIA's directive. But no sooner has he crossed the border into Phnom Penh when the bloodthirsty Khmer Rouge roars into town. And as Jake fights to survive in the jungle warzone, the dots begin to connect, all pointing to a startling truth.

Maybe that CIA asset was never really missing at all.

For fans of fun, fast-moving adventures, the Jake Fonko series seamlessly blends well-researched 20th century history with equal parts white-knuckle thrills, satirical humor and explosive action. If you like Ian Fleming (Bond), John D. MacDonald (Travis McGee), George MacDonald Fraser (Flashman) or Clive Cussler (Dirk Pitt), you'll enjoy the Jake Fonko series.

This has a real feel and was very enjoyable. I like more action but again it's written in a real feel so not much beat em up stuff.

About the author

B. Hesse Pflingger is an obscure professor of contemporary history, so obscure that he doesn't even show up in a Google search. This is primarily because during his 17 years on the job he's never published anything. However, with his discovery of Jake Fonko as a source of the inside stories of the major events of our time, he is confident that his compilation and recounting of Mr. Fonko's exploits will result in the professional recognition and tenured position that have eluded him until now.
