About this ebook

He has wings, but this alien is no angel…

Traumatized by the deaths of his family and the destruction of his planet, Wingman lands on Earth in search of a haven and the solitude to nurse his emotional wounds. When a chance decision foils a kidnapping, he’s drawn into the life of a young widow and her daughter. He’s shocked to discover the human woman is his genmate, the one he’s genetically bonded to.

To escape a stalker, Delia and her imaginative, impressionable daughter flee to a small town where nobody can find them. She’s concerned, but not overly so, when her daughter says she invited an angel to her birthday party.

Then the winged alien shows up, and all heck breaks loose. After a rocky first encounter, Delia begins to see Wingman for what he really is—a wounded hero, one of the most protective, sexiest men she’s ever met.

As passion deepens their bond, past dangers resurface to threaten Delia and her child. Will Wingman be able to confront his demons to make the sacrifice necessary to protect them?

Wingman, an Avian, enjoyed observing humans. They fascinated him. There were good and bad, but the good outweighed the bad and drew him back to observe. One day he saw a little girl run after a van playing music. When the van finally stopped, Wingman lingered to see why the girl was so eager for the van to stop. He had seen the coins she had dropped and had to pick up as she chased the vehicle. He and his fellow ’Topians could go out into public now since they now had new alien ID cards through the Intergalactic Dating Agency. But he still kept his wings covered when he walked the streets. As he watched, the man in the van grabbed the girl and began to force her into the van. Wingman shouted and flew to them. His feathers sharpened into blades and the man ran off. Izzy Mason introduced herself to the man she calls her guardian angel. He told her his name was Wynn. She invited him to her birthday party. Although he first refused, he figured he could tell her mother how she almost lost her child while she was sleeping instead of protecting her! Izzy had invited her dolls and teddy bear and two imaginary friends to the party, then mentioned her angel. That was a new one! Her mom would be glad when she met some real children from school. Delia started to fear that the angel was a real person and asked more questions. But hearing about his sharp feathers and ability to fly and wear a cape, she relaxed. Obviously not real. When Delia ran next door to get the big surprise gift, a puppy, Wingman arrived and Izzy let him in. When her mom returned, she freaked out and the puppy tripped Wingman. Gifts and food went everywhere as he quickly left, telling Izzy to let her mom know what happened when he had rescued her. Delia and Izzy went to a Lavender Bliss Farm Festival and saw people with tails and horns. Delia started to think maybe Angel was one of the performers and just practicing. They stopped at Psy the Seer. He was actually one of the alien survivors with Wingman. When he knew Izzy’s name, Delia got nervous. Then he looked at her and said the man she was thinking of is not angel but does have wings and he would never hurt her. Izzy spotted Angel flying and tumbling through the sky, entertaining guests. So he was a performer as Delia expected. But when he met with them after the show, he told Delia the truth of who he was. And as he gets to know Delia better, he realizes that she is his GenMate and he will do anything to keep her and her daughter safe. Can she learn to trust him? Will she accept him as her mate? This was an excellent book that really felt right. I loved all of the characters, including the alien group, and look forward to more of their stories. Grab your copy and enjoy!

Wynn (Wingman) is one of a group of survivors from a catastrophic planet decimation who has come to Earth. He and his fellows have come to settle on Earth and have been provided with identities. He and his cohorts settle in the small town of Argent, Idaho. He is fortuitously able to save a young Earth girl from harm by an apparent pedophile. Little Izzy invites him to her upcoming birthday party and Wynn says yes. He is disturbed that the little girl was left alone and allowed to leave her home and be put in a dangerous situation—he wants to see just who this parent is. Izzy has mistaken Wynn for an angel because Wynn and his shipmates have functioning wings. When Izzy describes her new friend to her mother Delia, she thinks that Wynn is another pretend friend like Izzy’s other invites to her party. Delia and Izzy are also recent settlers to the small town and Delia, a widow, is trying to provide as normal a life for little Izzy as possible. She is therefore surprised when the handsome wingman ‘angel’, Wynn shows up for the party. Wynn is flummoxed when he meets Delia but comes to quickly recognize that she is not a bad mother. While the story has a deliciously slow (but still enthralling) buildup, the reader can’t help but be in the couple’s corner as they begin to fall for each other. The H/h are interesting characters who have suffered a lot but strive to keep it together: Delia for Izzy and Wynn for his shipmates who have all lost so much. The plot has a fair amount of action too, including some episodes of danger. I enjoyed this story a great deal—characters, romance, action and emotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Review Copy of this book.

A enjoyable story that I was able to follow since I didn't read the first book in this series. This story is about Wingman (Wynn) who has been living on Earth for a few months. Wingman settled with the group of castaways in a small town of Argent. They were saved from extinction from the Xeno Consortium who are eradicating any breed that they believed fell short of their requirements. Wingman lives with the horror of not saving his planet and suffers with nightmares. During his rare days outside Wynn sees a young girl (Izzy Mason) chasing a ice cream truck and when the ice cream man tries to take her he intervenes. Izzy believes Wynn is her guardian angel and invites him to her birthday party. Delia Mason, single mom, works the night shift as a cocktail waitress at the Whitetail bar. When her daughter says she invited a angel to celebrate her birthday, Delia thinks angel is one of her imaginary friends. Wynn keeping a promise is concern about Izzy and wants to talk to her mother about Izzy. He finds the mother attractive and the meeting doesn't go well. When they meet again at the town's Lavender Festival, their attraction between them grows. Can Wingman who is getting emotional with Delia and Izzy, save the Delia from a stalker that threatens them? Loved the story, the characters in this Alien Romance I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.
