So I wasn't too sure about this book, however I do give it a 4 to 4.5 stars. I do agree with other reviews that there wasn't that much action/excitement as well as it did get a bit dragged at times, HOWEVER i believe it sets you up for more of that action/excitement for the rest of the series (have not read yet). Give it a chance if you are willing. What the book does have within it (trying not to spoil) will get you hook to read more of their story.

This was a nice lead into the series read, but I expected a bit more excitement being a mafia tail. I guess that's not how it works. Lot of Italian references and the mystery surrounding the family helped make the story feel authentic.

Wow, I can't even begin to tell you how captivated and stunned I am after reading this first book in Violetta and Santino's suspenseful and seductive romance. Violetta is living with her aunt and uncle in the US after her parents were killed in Italy when she was young. She is living a carefree life of parties, college and dreaming of true love. She loves her Italian roots, and way of life, but also the freedom that comes in her new country. That is until she is sold for a debt that is beyond her or her families control to the beautiful, powerful, and dangerous man they call King. He has dark eyes that call to her, and look into her very soul. Despite that connection, Violetta fights her marriage to Santino, but must go thru with it to protect her family. She still dreams of a way to escape this life she doesn't want, until danger finds her, sending her back into the safety of Santino. Even when she feels safe with him, she wars between her fear and her desire for him. Santino is intrugued by this feisty and fiery woman who keeps him on his toes, and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. They soon find they can't fight their attraction any longer, and their connection that they felt from the beginning becomes explosive. But Santino is a man of many secrets, some that could destroy all his carefully constucted plans. When his past resurfaces, and his secrets come to light, it could shatter both their worlds. I was so riveted by this breathtaking story. Violetta is innocent at first glance, but is a warrior at heart, with a darkness underneath that connects with the darkness in Santino. Santino is deliciously dominant, powerful and protective, with a kindness that soon wins over Violetta, and me as well. This first book in the DiLustro Arrangement trilogy is a spectacular start to Violetta and Santino's story, and I absolutely loved it! It has teased and completely seduced me with promises of more heart-pounding revelations, unanswered questions, and steamy passion! With so much on the line, including their hearts, I can't wait to find out what happens next!
