Super Awesome
I knew I was going to love this. I mean: superheroes, a f/f romance with a heartbreaking ending, a heroine who is a comic book writer and artist, plenty of humor to break some tense moments... I mean, this is Liz bait. And I loved all of those things, but I especially loved the total heart that beats throughout this book. Not to mention the slowed down, comic panel drawings that punctuate that narration. Gott deftly carries fast-paced prose, weaving panels through so naturally, you barely notice the tense change, and really appreciate the picture she paints with words.
"Jane" is innovative, exciting, and one of the best books I've read this year. I can't wait for more Heroes of Hope!
